You can, but why take the risk of a wrong measurement or tricky install which could cost you even more money. We take full responsibility for all our measurements and our professional installers are equipped to handle even the most troublesome windows.
Although blinds off the shelf do cost less, the quality of the products can be inferior such as plastic headrails, slat material that warps and fades easily and practically no warranty on most products. Price: We find that we match and in most cases beat the big box stores on price for comparable products and on installation.
Measuring: Most windows are not properly squared and accurate measuring is essential for proper product fit. We do not charge for estimates, but the big box stores will charge you $30-$40 to come out to measure for an estimate. It is our responsibility to have your treatments fit in your windows properly.
Installation: The home improvement stores will charge you $12-$14 per window for installation while our installation charges are much less. The home improvement stores subcontract their installs to various people who have no vested interest in your home. We only use professional installers and we take pride in the work that we do and consider it a priveledge to make your home more beautiful than when we arrived.
